The Y layout allows for a lot of frontage for viewers but increases complexity as well. Ah, Googie. I'd like to do something in that style as well some day.

It might be worth playing around with some different layout ideas to see if we can maximize viewable area, etc. I imagine at some point, we're going to bump into a limit as to how big shows will allow our layout to be and then we'll need to figure out ways to get the most use out of our space.

Once we get plexiglass, I think we can get more creative as well since we don't need space for people to stand behind every part of the layout.

I'd also like to see if we can get one or two additional small train loops in the layout so we can run more than two trains at a time. I've got a bunch of other ideas bouncing around in my head for how to improve our layout. I need to write them all down sometime.

I agree with the whole more trains idea
the trolly was a great addition and really added alot of movement to that section of the layout along with the subway
granted our layout is primarily a double loop maybe we can do 2 trains on the same loop at 1 time and
somehow thru nxt or just 2 people watching space the trains out to not hit
I was going to suggest doing a shunting yard that will be automated like cales trolley idea this would add
alot of movement around the rail yard side
I would like to propose it to cale as he is the tycoon / barron /train god
I like how the layout is going we have a fully detailed town where the street sections are and it seeme to be very flexible
where the streets end
we have alot of room on 2 corners to really go big
and along with a detailed rail yard and soon to be ( ROUNDHOUSE ) I think the yard will be a even bigger viewing area
and with some shunting all the kids will stop saying can you run this (bigboy) or that (bigboy/ polar express /potter/) all the time
also the thomas is a stud we should do a few more cars like cale suggested and power it somehow
just a few ideas

PS... yes cale I do understand just how much time you do not have to get it all done lol!
