Last year for Brickworld PennLUG contributed a small section to the Common Train Layout. Talk has already begun among the train groups for coordinating this years train displays. I would like for us to participate again this year weather it be contributing to the common layout or having our own stand alone layout.

The Brickworld organizers are expecting a record turn out this year (possibly close to 1000 attendees). And while we will have the whole hotel to our selves this year space may be at a premium. So it is important for us to get organized on this as quickly as possible.

Things we need for a possible train layout.

1. Participating members- If you are going and want to contribute to the layout we need a firm commitment as soon as possible. I will also need dimensions (preferably in base plates or studs) on what you want contribute.

2. Transportation of MOCs- If we are intending to put together a layout we will need to work out transportation of MOCs and display materials. In previous years several of us have carpooled to the event as it is a 14 hour drive. This has the disadvantage of limiting what we can pack as space is tight. We will need to come up with a transportation solution for our display. I'm open for any suggestions as any layout plans will hinge on this.

Please feel free discuss this here.

If at all possible, I will be coming to Brickworld with my trains. I doubt I'll bring anything static, so I suppose there's no stud dimension issues.

I do still want to try and collaborate with you on a locomotive factory sometime though!

Since I don't know yet what our MOC transport situation will be I don't know how much of a layout we will have. But either way we will find some space to park trains. Wink

And I'm certainly up for the locomotive factory. I'll have to dig through my books sometime and dig up some inspiration.
