Re: BickMagic 2011
Do you want the Snail Emporium? I am guessing that it goes in the misc "downtown". I am guessing you do not want a mini park? Let me know one way or the other asap. I will bring stuff on Sat for the display.

Yes to the Snail Emporium, I made sure there was room for it in the plan. No on the park.

Re: BickMagic 2011
A few people have said they were building ballasted rail and or road sections. If you have any let me know. I think we have enough roads. I just need to build another intersection, RR Crossing and one straight trolley section. But I don't think we have enough ballasted rail to complete the whole layout yet.

Re: BickMagic 2011
This is really impressive, which makes me wonder what we will have in store for BrickFair, as that's closer to our "motherland." hehe I really wish I could go this time around, but I'm glad to see some of my stuff will be incoporated. When I see pictures of the layout and everything else online, it's like I get to be there without actually being there.

I'm glad you like the layout Matt. I'm not sure what we will have for Brickfair, it still seems so far in the future even though it will be here before we know it.

Re: BickMagic 2011
Does the BrickMagic "My Registration" page reflect if you've paid the fee or not? I paid via PayPal over two weeks ago, but the Amount Due field still shows "$50". I sent an email to them yesterday and haven't heard back yet and tomorrow is the payment deadline.
Re: BickMagic 2011
My registration page reflects my payment.
I have no suggestion on how to proceed, as you seem to have done what I would have done. Good Luck sorting things out.

Re: BickMagic 2011
Good luck everyone. I Really wish I could attend with you but I have other family/work things going on at this time. Take some pics of the Brickforge smart phone you get with registration it looks pretty sweet and if there's an opportunity to buy them during the event I will happily pay you for it.
Thanks

Re: BickMagic 2011
Just checked the website again and now my registration shows up as paid. Thank goodness.

I believe I have everything included that has been listed as coming. This layout is roughly 20ftx30ft with plenty of room inside for manning operations. The downtown section is just a general plan. We can move and adjust things as needed.
Things are really coming together. Thanks to some help from Brian and his wife Wendy we have all of the straight yard sections ballasted. And Tony E. has helped out big time by building the yard switches we will need.
After checking the track plan and taking a count today of our ballasted track sections it looks like were only 8 sections short of having the whole layout ballasted. Several people in the past have mentioned they were building sections. If any one has any finished they would be very helpful. We need 8 of regular straight sections, instructions for which can be found here. I have some parts and I'm going to see if can build a few but if any one else has some ready to go it would be awesome.

Re: BickMagic 2011
I am not presently working on any, but if you come up short, I probably have the parts for two on hand (my limitation is the 1x2 dk bley plates). I can make them if need be.
Re: BickMagic 2011
cale ??
I know that the switches are grey do you want the ballasted straights level and grey
like I did the switches or do you want to fix them in the future it will look funny with the standard
tracks next to the yard switches

Re: BickMagic 2011
I have 4 sections done and ready to go. They are both 9V and Power Functions. Let me know if they need to be all one way or the other. I may have enough for 1 or 2 more if you need me to try.

Re: BickMagic 2011
I was going to build some ballasted sections (sans 9V tracks, since I don't own any) but if there's already enough, then I won't bother making them until after BrickMagic.
Re: BickMagic 2011
please build them i am having a hard time getting parts to put my 4 up b4 you guys need them

Re: BickMagic 2011
I built some track sections. I used 16x32 plates, so there's 4 plates of regular track and 4 plates of 9V track (sans the actual 9V track pieces since I don't own any).
I also built some road sections: 1 T intersection with plastic track (we can swap in the 9V track during setup) and 2 plain streets, all to be used for another side street. I didn't have enough 1x4 white and 1x4 dark gray plates, so I would up doing the crosswalk using 1x4 white and dark gray bricks. The stripes are a little wider than the other intersections, but otherwise looks fine.
I'm going to start work on some green hillside pieces to use at the edge of raised baseplates as well as around my radio station. I may or may not try to make some light-blue water modules.
I also need to make some more raised 8x16 sidewalk modules.

Awesome! Between you and Tony S we now have enough sections to do the whole layout. This will mark the first time we have a 100% ballasted layout (yard, trolley line and all). :>>>:
The T section and road and the straight roads you built Rob will be a big help as well. It will give us a little more room to work with and give the layout more depth. The bricks for the cross walk will work fine for now. One of my 4 way intersections is built the same way as I ran out of plates myself.

Re: BickMagic 2011
Great. Thanks.
Do you still need another Grand Emporium? Can someone else bring theirs? I've already got 10 boxes of stuff to bring.

Brian has the center section and a corner. Tony S. has also lent a corner. We would need two more corners to do the full block. I have not built mine and will not have time to do it before Brickmagic. Alternatively we can just do the front and fill in the back two corners with other buildings.

Re: BickMagic 2011
Cool. Is there a stream for behind the wood bridges? I had made some hill slopes we could put behind those buildings, but a stream would be nice.

I dont have any thing yet. It's one of those last minute things I decided to throw in. I'm open to suggestions.
