Minifigs are $4.99 at TRU ?!
I was at the Exton TRU during lunch yesterday and saw some Series 2 minifigs...then I saw the price $4.99 each!
Last batch I saw there was $2.99.
I guess its a bit of price gouging by TRU.
side note: I picked up the last TRU tractor trailer they had, so I guess maybe some more are hitting stores as I hadn't seen any there in previous trips to it.

I will never buy another lego set or product at toys r us
I was at the aramingo ave store today where I was going to buy the 20 min to get the bricktober mini fig
I noticed the battlepacks that were 11.99 on friday last week were now 14.99
and almost all lego products were marked up 5-20%
R I P Toys R us

Re: Minifigs are $4.99 at TRU ?!
I was there Sunday and after making my purchase, they told me they didn't have any of the Bricktober classic minifigures. Awesome. Hope they get some in this week (and don't give me any problems when I demand one)

A needlessly emotional reaction to transient circumstances. The logical approach is to buy at TRU if (and only if) the price is right, a strategy facilitated by our "Retail Store Sales" forum. A high mark-up on one product, at one time, does not mean that all products will be equally marked-up at all times.
Also, one should not forget that a buying decision is not predicated entirely on the price of the product. There is the price of transport (if traveling to the merchant for just this one product), the convenience (if other products can be purchased at the merchant, or a visit to this merchant can be batched with other errands), the rewards program, etc. Under some circumstances it is conceivable that a higher price is justified by countervailing factors.

I do appreciate your opinion on this matter
there are alot of factors that I did not include in my statement that I would gladley discuss at the meeting
just ask me about it

I just bought mine at Boscov's for $1.99. There are alternatives to fighting Toys 'R Us.
Re: Minifigs are $4.99 at TRU ?!
I'll do the Vulcan thing a bit too, and mention the trend I've seen at Toys R Us recently:
All prices are jacked up temporarily around the holidays and then return to normal in the new year. The holiday season has likely started by now.
An interesting exception is brand new LEGO sets, which last year seemed to start off at MSRP for a week or so, and then get jacked up for the remainder of the holidays.
I think all of this is actually an improvement from, say, 2 years ago, when prices seemed to be jacked up year-round at Toys R Us.

Re: Minifigs are $4.99 at TRU ?!
I pretty much only buy at TRU if there's a sale, clearance or coupon, or if they're actually selling something at MSRP. Their Buy-One-Get-One-50%-Off sales are usually worth it, even with their extra markup.
I stopped by yesterday with my receipt and was able to get my Bricktober minifig magnet without any problems.
