Looks like the gear selector varies the PF location. Really neat, but I'd prefer more complex mechanicals.

Re: New 8070 Supercar Video
From what I have read a lot of people would prefer it to just have a transmission instead of the PF function parts. However, I gotta give it to lego for trying something new. Plus, I don't honestly see how these power functions can really be simple. If ou got a hood that hinges at the front, two individual doors, and the spoiler that pops up from under then trunk, that seems like it might have some complex mechanics. Could at least be worth building to learn new techniques.
Re: New 8070 Supercar Video
Hmm some very good reading. There is a pretty heated disscussion about this new car verses the one CrowKillers built.
He is a registered member of the forum, and I am hoping Crowkillers will show up to a meeting sometime. I would like to meet him, and as I most likely won't make BrickWorld I don't see it happening any other way.

Uh, yeah whatever. A real live CV joint in Lego? That's pretty damn impressive.

It's actually not the first set to have them.

That's what I get for replying without reading. My apologies to all.
What did they use before?

Re: New 8070 Supercar Video
I am not sure what they have used before. The only reason I know its different is that I read the article and saw the picture of the new part. I haven't been buying alot of technic lately. I like the technic stuff, and the new beams are nice, but I miss the old technic bricks. It let you add onto it with regular system bricks. The one set I really wish I had gotten was the large off-roader set. I would still love to get that one but they are so pricey right now.
Re: New 8070 Supercar Video
Agreed. It seems like the two 4x4 off-roaders that were "major models" are cousins to the cars:
