We have Brickfair Hotel Rooms
I have reserved a pair of joined rooms for BrickFair at the Holiday Inn. They are both non-smoking, with 2 double beds, and 1 room has no feather pillows in it ( because I am allergic to them) Check in Thu Aug 4th, check out Mon Aug 8th. The rate is $99 plus tax per night per room. Please post here if you want a spot in one of these rooms. I wanted to lock them in now, while there were still some left, because they sold out last year.
Re: We have Brickfair Hotel Rooms
Yes, count me in too. I would really like to have a bed due to my back problems. I'd be happy to pay a bigger share of the room cost for one, if need be.
Re: We have Brickfair Hotel Rooms
I am in, too.
I'm not sure yet if Ben will be attending but I'll say he is for now to hold the space.
Didn't we need more than 2 rooms for BrickFair last year? If so I'll reserve 2 more rooms. I'll wait a week or so to see how many people respond to wanting a room.
This is well timed because I was going to post about who wanted a room reserved for BrickMagic, which is in North Carolina during Mother's Day weekend. I will start another post for that.

I thought we had used three rooms total last year? Plus Mike and Evie, Dudley and Michelle each had there own rooms as well...

I think you are right, Brian. Therefore I will reserve 2 rooms and we can always cancel 1 or more if needed.

Re: We have Brickfair Hotel Rooms
Hi,
I am getting to be an old man. So my days of lodging en mass are over. I have booked a room at the Raleigh Hilton and will make the second double bed available at $125 total for four nights (May 5-8.) That is half a room at one third the rate.
The Hyatt next door does not prove to be the best rate this year. It did have free internet and breakfast. But the breakfast was not of high quality. The Hilton web page says we get high speed internet free. The BrickMagic site says it will be $5 per day for internet. So, who do we believe?
Anyway, let me know if anyone is interested. The first person to ask gets the deal.

Re: We have Brickfair Hotel Rooms
Tony, that is tempting but I think I'm going to go the "lodging en mass" route. hehe I have to watch my wallet.
So, to everyone else, I'm interested in participating in BrickFair this year, so I'm interested in sharing a room with a group of people. I can sleep on the floor...under the desk if I have to. I've done it before.

Hey,
I put my post in the wrong place. I was referring to BrickMagic, not Briickfair.
I will be staying at my in-laws again for DC. I may be able to host another dinner, if there is enough interest. Maybe I can plan a little better and do things in a less rushed manner.

Re: We have Brickfair Hotel Rooms
I was wondering if there were any brickfair rooms left, I would need a quarter of a room, and I'm content to be on the floor if there aren't any beds left. I was just wondering what the numbers looked like for available rooms
Thanks

Re: We have Brickfair Hotel Rooms
My girlfriend is interested in coming for the week to Brickfair. What would she have to do to get a spot in one of the rooms (preferably the room I am also signed up for)? As a non-subscriber, could she still pay an equal share of the hotel room since that has nothing to do with LEGO? Please let me know and I will register her for the convention. And if the club decides against it, what am I looking at for possible hotel rooms for just me and her in the area?

Re: We have Brickfair Hotel Rooms
I have 2 rooms which still have plenty of space.
Chris: Your girlfriend is welcome to join us. It shuoldn't be a problem at all since we are all paying for our own rooms/space. However, you should note that we often have 4 or more per room. Therefore it is likely another guy would be using the same room. You may want to try to coordinate with KC and whoever she may have for her rooms so that the 2 girls can be in the same room. If Nicki will be there that may alter the mix a bit.
I'm sure we can discuss this in detail at our next meeting.

Re: We have Brickfair Hotel Rooms
Thanks, Mike.
I'm sure we'll be fine with whoever we are roomed with. It's just good to hear that there is no problem with her staying with us. I'll go ahead and register for for BrickFair.

Of course your girlfriend is welcome Chris. I'm sure we can work out some kind of arrangements with rooms.

Re: We have Brickfair Hotel Rooms
I have 2 rooms, and so does Mike T, so we have plenty of room. I am totally fine with non-members paying exactly what members pay, it is just split exactly by how many are in the room.
