Today in the LEGO store I learned that some new minifig magnets are glued, for example Pharaoh's Quest. The legs and torso are glued together and the legs are glued to the magnet base. The other parts are still removable. Check the back of the package, there's a small warning there.

hopefully they use sub-par glue so it won't be too hard to remove them...

That's news to me, none of the 20+ magnet sets I have have any glue, although they are a cheaper minifig than the ones included in sets. Which set did you get that were glued?

I have a official (but not official) update from a contact at lego
hasbro toys signed a contract with lucas that had very specific language in it
pertaining to figures that could be put together such as there build a droid pack in pieces
it appears to cover the whole license of lucas products so lego is in court fighting it
why lego decided to glue all their magnets only lego knows but hasbro has a history
of contract gimmicks and lego thinks hasbro is going after a percentage of the sale
I would buy all magnet sets before the 2nd month of next year
thats when all magnet sets will be produced again and glued just read the back of the pack
before you buy them
I personally cannot see why a parent would buy a set that is glued
it is on a oversized base that has no playablity to it
it is only a display from this point on
in my opinion lego will lose tens of millions of dollars for the glued alternative
what kid would want a figure glued to a base ??

Not to mention the hundereds of these that are bought by adults for resale, and for customization. I know of one person that is a vendor at conventions. She buys these and customizes them and sells them. Her guantity is going to go down, and her price is going to go up. If she doesn't give up on it all together.
