"Avatar" mesofigs
My minifig-scale but brick-built figures (what I call "mesofigs") of four characters from James Cameron's Avatar -- Jake, Neytiri, and her parents Eytukan and Mo'at. Photos at Flickr. More characters, photos, and proper categorization to come.
I'm also making good progress on a super-Miniland-scale figure, same scale (i.e., towering over) my Misato figure -- as seen at the January meeting, and as challenged by Chris.

Re: "Avatar" mesofigs
I'm also making good progress on an ikran or "mountain banshee" -- the dragonlike mounts used by the Na'vi warriors. Troll swords, I discovered, are just right for the forward wing-talons. Same scale as the mesofigs, and it's lucky the characters ride atop the beasts instead of astride -- it's much easier to mount the mesofigs. Photos as soon as I figure out the head and tail.
Re: "Avatar" mesofigs
I like how much posability you worked into these. Much better than any minifig mods, I think, and properly to scale!
Re: "Avatar" mesofigs
As promised -- first four pics of my ikran MOC, still WIP (looking for a consistent color scheme among my brick supply). Click image below for my Flickr photostream.
Thanks for the comments. Yes, posability is a major design goal with my mesofigs (or metafigs or quasifigs -- I'm not very consistent ). Also color separation -- minifig arms e.g. just don't do short sleeves.

Awesome work, especially the Ikran. I can't wait to see the big Neytiri.

Re: "Avatar" mesofigs
These are really good and, what's more, they're movie themed, which is even better. We had talked about the possibility of doing a movie themed display in the Window on the Community at the Lego Store. Would you be interested in participating, if and when that happens?
