STUDS Collectible Trading Cards
Call me a geek but I think this is just an absolutely awesome idea.
STUDS Collectible Tradig Cards
The adult Lego building community is a vital, diverse and interesting world. An alliance of creative individuals, each with their own unique building style, artistic focus and distinct personality. You’ve all seen incredible Lego models in the news and on the Internet - now learn the names and faces of the people responsible for creating the work. STUDS is a trading card set that profiles the men and women who use Lego to build incredible, original sculptures and brings you an close-up view of this fascinating world. Each card has the image of an amazing Lego creation on the front of the card and info about the work and the artist on the back.
Please consider adding your support to this project.

Cool find! I think it's a great idea. Would be cool if they could profile a MOC from as many builders as possible. Now the question is...who gets the hologram card?

They will be profiling 55 builders from what I understand. It would be awesome if some one from PennLUG was chosen to be in the series. It will be interesting to see what is on the special cards.

To be featured on one of these cards would be one of my greatest accomplishments. Oh if only...

Brandon, the creator/designer of this project, is a friend of mine. I'll make sure to 'remind' him of the awesome talent we have here in PennLUG.

Re: STUDS Collectible Trading Cards
I've told a few of you this already but haven't announced it to the group yet. Brandon contacted me and wants me to be one of the builders featured on the cards. The front of the card will feature one of my MOCs and the back will have a photo of me as well as a short bio. Here is the problem. I'm not sure what MOC should go on the card. Does any one have any thoughts.

Re: STUDS Collectible Trading Cards
Obviously a train should be picked, even though you have other wonderful MOCs. Those K4s are pretty snazzy. The other one I really like is Pennsylvania RR E6s #460 because it not only looks great, it is a PA train.

Re: STUDS Collectible Trading Cards
for this to be commercially successful, I would think structure would need to be in place before people started being named to be on the cards. I would think there would be specific criteria to achieve to be qualify (votes, number of mocs, years active, member of a lug, etc). It shouldn't just be a popularity contest and it shouldn't just be the people known best by the producers of the cards. You know? because, ultimately, I would the the idea would be for this to make business sense, so you'd want to sell cards with themes, of MOCs from conventions, etc.
