Project Epic Mario
Penn LUG Administrator,
My name is Zachary Pollock and I am part of PortLUG in Portland, OR. I am writing today to tell you about a project I am working on in hopes that you will share it with your LUG, as it is so large that I need the help oJf the LEGO® community to pull it off. I am calling the project Epic Mario and I am building the entire first level of Super Mario Brothers at a one brick per pixel ratio. The overall project is a mosaic almost 7’ tall by 90’ wide and has over 780,000 studs. The goal is to use this project as means to test the waters for starting a foundation that will work with kids in hospitals doing healing art projects with LEGO® bricks.
I have begun a project on Kickstarter in hopes of raising the money to build the project. I ask only that you check out my project and share it with your LUG. From there it’s up to each person to decide if they want to help me out. My hope is that I can reach enough people in the Lego community willing to help that I can make this project happen. If the project gets completed I plan on getting to as many Con’s as I can in the next year to showcase it.
Thank you for your time, and I hope to see you at Con with Epic Mario sometime in the next year!

Cheers,
Zachary Pollock

Re: Project Epic Mario
I had posted this on reddit a while back when the project just started and I kicked in. Sorry to not see it get supported, but I think it was a great idea, Certainly if enough LUGs contributed squares...
Re: Project Epic Mario
I wouldn't be surprised if they found another way to accomplish this.
