10223 Kingdoms Joust
The 1584 Knight's Challenge was one of my all time favorite Castle sets as a Kid. So when I saw this I squealed with joy.
10223 Kingdoms Joust
It started with the Medieval Market Village then the release of the stellar Kingdoms line and now this. What an awesome time to be a Castle fan. LEGO is on their A game lately.

That's pretty sweet. I missed out on the one you had. This is the edition I had as a kid.

Ah, Knights Kingdom I, the Town Jr. of Castle...
And Cale, that new Joust looks really good. A very elaborate set. They don't usually give you an entire scene like that. Adding more to it could not improve it!

The new one is definitely an improvement and is one of the better looking castle sets I've seen in years.

As a production set, maybe. But it could easily be transformed into a Ren Faire by parking some Town cars outside and scattering the Town minifigs about as spectators. While eating turkey legs. With a ticket booth in the archway, and an ATM to the side. Then rearrange the Market Village and Forge sets into the faire's vendors, selling... I dunno, what merchandise looks good at minifig scale?... glassware, "plush" dragons, hats, cheese, live steel. (Now I'm thinking about a glassblower's version of the Forge shed.) Ooh! And if you wanted to look like the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire at Mount Hope, you could add a landlocked pirate ship.
Castles, Market Village, Joust, Farm, Forge ... What we need next is an official festival-themed set. Elevated stage and backdrop, minstrels, musicians, lanterns.
One photo uses two copies
I first caught the announcement on Facebook, but it's duplicated on Eurobricks, which adds an important caveat: one of the wide-shot photos combines two copies of the set (with 11 figs). The castle archway is cross-sectional (with two copies you enclose it) and there are only 9 figs. The first Eurobricks photo show a full set of modules from a single set, which seem to be:
Archway with two towers (three stories plus attic) with exposed interiors
Wall-section with elevated platform with Hawk and Lion shields
Wall-section with elevated blue-paneled shed
Royal viewing stand
Red/white lion pavilion and horse
Green/black hawk pavilion and horse
Jousting rail
