This is Mary - rather new to the group. I met some of you at BrickFair (on Sunday packing up) and then attended my first PennLUG meeting last month. I don't know that I'll be able to get to this weekend's meeting, so wanted to post this today. At the meeting, I mentioned we were trying to do a "large" event as a fundraiser for our local library. I need thousands of bricks (ie 8000+ red 2x4s, etc.) to do this project. We've mapped everything out, but now am looking for bulk suppliers. Any recommendations? I'm hoping to find someone who will work with us on price since it's for charity. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I realize this is no help for this event but for future reference...

This is something the LEGO company can sometimes help out with, since it is for charity. I don't know if that means free or discounted bricks but it doesn't hurt to check and see what their current attitude is. However, they will need at minimum 3 months notice but 6 months or more more is likely to be their real lead time. The contact would be Jim Foulds or perhaps whomever Steve Witt's replacement is.

Good luck with your event and please keep us posted, especially with any photos.

Thanks Mike. I spoke with Jim briefly at BrickFair and he said he'd need 2 months time, and that we'd have to pay, but I didn't know if they'd give a discount. I'm going to email him as well and see what happens.

Thanks. Tracie! I know Jim said they were getting someone, but he wasn't up to speed at the time of our conversation. I'll cc him on the email and see if one of them replies with some help. Appreciate it!
