New Year's Gathering
Hello All,
I asked at KidsFest, and the December PeenLUG meeting, about the club getting together for the holidays. Just an opportunity to meet and have fun without the need to deal with pressing matters. The idea found resonance with those I spoke with.
I knew everyone probably had as busy a calendar as I did. So the plan is for people to come to my house on January 2 (Sunday) about 10-11 AM and last until about 7 PM (or later if we all blow off work the next day.) I'll serve a lunch of lasagna and salad. Bring your favorite beverage and spouse. This could be a way for them to meet all those people we hang with (and probably complain about. LOL)
We could play Constructionary, or board games. I also have Dominoes, and playing cards. Or bring your own favorite diversion. I have not really thought much past getting people here. So if you have an idea, please share it.
So that we may plan, please post in this thread if you plan to attend. Again bring your spouses. I hope to do this next year if people enjoy themselves.

ps: let me know if anyone needs directions.

I'll definitely be there and I'll try to bring my girlfriend. She shouldn't have too pressing of plans.

Oh I'll come. I'll figure a way to get Victoria there, as well. I am looking forward to it!

Re: New Year's Gathering
I will be there, but I will not be bringing a spouse, as I don't seem to have one of those lying around. I do not know if they would want to come along or not, so I haven't asked, but what about a teenager or a mom?
Re: New Year's Gathering
This thread needs to be bumped because the partay is soon!
Are not more interested? Tony's food is the best! And his house can easily seat like, five hundred Fraggles. I don't know what that translates to in human terms, but we didn't have any problems at the last meet there.

Re: New Year's Gathering
Sorry I can't make it. I'm sure it'll be fun. See everyone at the next meeting.
Re: New Year's Gathering
Unfortunately I will not be able to make it after all. I hope every one has lots of fun and I look forward to seeing everyone again at next weeks meeting.

Wow, that was really fun... and as usual, the food was awesome. Thanks for hosting a great little party.

Thank you Tony & Niki - we had fun and I have some new games to add to my wish list!
See you all next week.

Re: New Year's Gathering
Tony S, I forgot to ask you what price you paid for the castle (what amount you want back after it sells). It is going for $150 on BL right now, if that is too low, I can keep it in 'stockroom' for a while (or better yet, set it at a higher price and watch buyers eventually welcome the high price evil laugh). Please let me know as the store has re-opened but the castle remains in 'stockroom' as I do not want it to sell for a financial loss.
Joel, here is some info on biker bob: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=2584-1
it came as a promotional set with LEGO Creator, as LEGO Chess came with a king on a throne and, though I can't recall anymore, other games came with sets.
Mike M, Just a reminder that I will be bringing you three OldGray 48x48 baseplates to use for whatever you need. I also request a green 16x32 baseplate in temporary exchange for my cracked one. I'll bring every baseplate I have which doesn't have potential sets to be included in for my BrickLink store.
Also, thanks for a wonderful time and especially for Fireball Island!

Re: New Year's Gathering
Chris,
I paid less than $80 for the HP Castle. So $150 sounds okay for quick sale. If you want to get a little more, that would be great too. I am not in a hurry to get my money back. I just wanted to flesh out our store with some interesting stock.
To all who came: Thanks for a great time. I hope everyone had as good a time as Nickki and I did. We really enjoy entertaining people. I would like to do it again next year.
