LEGO Resale Value
Hi there ... it's been a long time since I've been around. Things are going great. Still building/collecting, just no time to be active in the club. And with baby #3 on the way I don't see having extra time anytime soon. I'm also teaching at Marywood University part time now so there is that.
So here is my question ...
I was looking at selling some sets to fund a non-lego purchase and I noticed the resale value on the sets that I have been holding on to have tanked. Some sets last year were worth well over $300 and now they are barely selling for over $100.
Is this a trend you guys have been seeing?
Super excited about the LEGO Discovery Center in Philly and the possible LEGOLAND in Upstate NY.
Later,
- Dudley

Re: LEGO Resale Value
I haven't noticed things going down in value except parts that were once rare becoming common. .... but I don't follow it that closely.
What sets have devalued?
And, wow, 3 kids !!!
I am one and done.

Re: LEGO Resale Value
I imagine Lego value will really drop once the world economy collapses next year.
Re: LEGO Resale Value
What sets are you talking about? I do remember the "LEGO is a better investment than gold" article that was circulating around the past year or two. Speculative markets tend to attract a lot of people, few of whom probably remain in it for the long-haul. Perhaps the "bandwagoners" are starting to jump ship.
