Hey All,

As Rod Serling might say, "Submitted for your approval..."

Cale has been working out the street standards, and I have been hiding this model under my hat for a while. His latest Flickr uploads brought it out, though. I'm quite proud of the design, and offer it up for the Pennlug layout stable. I haven't built one myself as-to-yet, and hope to have one ready in Pacific Electric Railway (Los Angeles) livery to appear by Brickfair, but if anyone wants to take a crack at their own version, have at it.

Nice. Are there any plans to power it or will it be an unpowered model? Either way I think we can I think it could fit in nicely.

It's probably not possible with the small wheels, is it? Either way, it's gorgeous, and I'm excited to see it in brick!

Great to see you on here! Definitely make a post in the intro section, and try to come to the Feb. meeting if you can. It'll be the first Saturday in Feb at Matt's (guy who posted above me) if you'd like to come, give him a heads up about it.

It looks really great, John. Will this be a static display model or do you plan to change the trucks to have it motorized?

The motorization is the sticky wicket. The small wheels preclude me from motorizing the trucks as they are now, but any larger wheels and the thing stops looking good next to minifigures. The only solution I've come up with is to use a tire pushing against the road somewhere mid-car, to give the illusion that the trucks are motorized. That engineering challenge may be phase two, once I get around to building this for real.
