BrickFair Parts Draw
This is for those who will be going to BrickFair.
We have been doing a club Parts Draw at conventions. So, to get a jump on doing one at BF, I looked around during the last mid-week meeting and came up with these sets as possible candidates. Voice an opinion and let us know if you are interested in participating.
7965 Millenium Falcon $139 MSRP $98 with discount www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=7965-1
10226 Sopwith Camel $99 MSRP $70 with discount www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=10226-1
9466 The Carzy Scientist & His Monster $50 MSRP $35 with discount www.brickset.com/detail/?set=9466-1
7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship $50 MSRP $35 with discount www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=7930-1
I am thinking of setting the buy in at $20-25 depending upon how many people, and which and how many sets. If you have a different kit to suggest, please do so. Also, I guess I can co-ordinate the purchase of the chosen set.

I concur.
Although I'm not intersted in parts drawing it myself, the Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship has been on clearance at several stores already. It was pretty cheap at my local Kmart a few months ago. Some Targets have it 30% off right now, so any that are still in stock in a week or two might be 50% off or cheaper.

Re: BrickFair Parts Draw
The Sopwith Camel get my vote. The Falcon and the Monster Fighters set look good to though. The only one that doesn't really interest me is the Bounty Hunter set.

Re: BrickFair Parts Draw
We buy sets, separate them into their different elements. We then take turns grabbing lots. The game is about choosing one pile over another. Is it better to have fewer of something good over lots of something less important to you? Do you pick a certain pile now or wait a round?
The buy in is usually not too expensive. We have hit upon buying bigger sets in order to drop the cost of pieces. Also, we like doing these at conventions because we get a discount. It has become a regular thing for the club to do together.
I will take a final tally at BrickFair of who is interested and establish the selected set. Then I will arrange the purchase of kits, set a time for the Draw and work on getting everything ready for it.

Re: BrickFair Parts Draw
Thanks for the info. Sounds like something I will be interested in participating with (depending on final cost).
