Dwell Magazine is having a contest to build a Lego 1950s style California house (http://new.dwell.com/contests/lego-modern-home-design-competition) so I decided to take a break from my usual city building to do a suburban house instead. I've also wanted to do something with tan and gray tiles as flagstone for awhile.

Thanks. I was originally thinking of something more Googie-ish, with odder angles (vertical and horizontal) for the roof, but decided it was going to be too much a pain to build. I think I'd still like to do a Googie building sometime.

Good luck Rob. It's a great house, and now you have something to add to the suburbia section of the layout. Smile

Thanks. If it makes the top 5 entries, then I have to send it in to Dwell Magazine to go on display at some home show in June where the final judging takes places. The rules say they're under no obligation to send it back. I'm probably going to build a copy before sending it off so I can use in the layouts. I might also put it in the community window next month.

Wow, that's kind of messed up rule. Crying or Very sad Hopefully, they're just saying that to cover their ass in case it gets lost in the mail. Smile

It would look great in the community window. If you put it in, what kind of minifigs would you add? How about a bizarro world Brady Bunch? Twisted Evil
