We talked a bit about doing a Greenberg show at the October meeting. There is a show coming up in Lancaster in December but the registration has already passed for that one and with our other December activities it would probably be too much to try for that one any way. The next one close to us will be in York January 14th and 15th.
I've been to the York show and while not huge it's a nice show with good public attendance and draws several model railroad club layouts. It's also very close to me so transporting our train stuff there will be very easy, and being local show the costs would be very minimal. I know it's a bit far for some of you but with a few of us in the area I think we can accommodate some overnight guests if need be. Greenberg also offers an small "honorarium" based on layout size that could be used to help offset some costs.
Since this is only a two day show and a bit smaller in size than the usual AFOL cons we normally do I'm thinking it best to keep our layout on the smaller side. The max size I would want to go would be 20ft x 20ft but smaller wouldn't be a big deal either based on how many want to participate.
The hours for the show are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Set-up begins at 2:00 pm on Friday and goes until 7:30 pm on Friday. Set-up resumes at 7:30 am Saturday and concludes at the opening of the show at 10:00 am.
We're really close to the registration deadline for this show (wanted to get going on this sooner but that darn trip to LEGOLAND kept me busy) so I need to know if any one is interested in this as soon as possible. I think if we can get 4-5 people to help out each day we can pull this off without to much burden. I'm hoping if we send off registration this week we can still get in. So who's in?

Hi Cale,
While I would love to do this show, I am already going to BrickFair - Alabama. I hope the rest of you do the Greenberg Show. It looks to be something that will appeal to the train enthusiasts among us.

Barring inclement weather, I'm interested in helping you out. Set-up would be an issue for me on Friday, at least the earlier part of the day since I don't get out of work until 4 PM. So if I were setting up, it probably wouldn't be more than 2 hours.
Re: Greenberg Train & Toy Show, York, January 14th and 15th
Since we missed the deadline to do this event, Cale suggested we do the Reading event in February. I will start a new thread.
