Introduction
Hello
My name is Karle and I live in Sacramento Ca. My interest in Lego was rekindled about 5 years ago when I saw a technic set that I thought was interesting. Before that, the last time I built with Lego, they had not invented the wheel yet. Last year I saw my first 8-wide train and was hooked, 6-wide just reminded me of Brio. I've joined your group because this is where the talent is. At present I'm working thru my "must build" list , four steam engines so far, the latest of which is a Southern Pacific GS-4, aka "The Daylight". I would very much like to correspond with members to get some ideas about building articulated steamers and observation passenger cars, the back end has me stumped. You can't build a GS-4 without building a train! Sadly, it's unlikely that I will ever be able to meet the membership requirements but my daughter is stationed in Langley Virginia and I'll plan a trip to coincide with a meeting date or if the gods are smiling, a meet.

Re: Introduction
It sounds like you probably want to focus in on the big train events. Our Greenberg show appearances are usually our largest ones, and we usually do the big conventions (Brickworld Chicago and BrickFair Virginia), a local convention (Philly Brick Fest), and sometimes do the NMRA National Train Show (which rotates cities).
Down in Virginia, WAMALTC is pretty active, but most of the group builds in 6-wide (or scales even larger than 8-wide).
Have you checked out Brick Model Railroader yet?

Re: Introduction
Thank you for getting back to me, I was beginning to wonder if I was talking to myself. If the timing were right I might be able to attend BrickFair Virginia or the Philly show. I'm not certain where Greenburg is but it might also be possible. With my daughter is at Langley AFB, all travel is computed from there.
I do read BMR. I find many of the articles interesting. The Instructions they sell are also, interesting, but I prefer to roll my own. I would like to post some pictures of my builds but I'm uncertain as to how. Not being on social media some times presents problems.
I was able to solve the fantail problem of the observation car, waiting for parts to finish it. I would very much like to talk to the builder of the articulated steam engines I've seen on the Penn Lug, YouTube posts. Thanks for your response.

Re: Introduction
Greenberg is a traveling show - we usually do the central and Eastern Pennsylvania dates. I've lost track of when they are - Cale is really the guy to ask for train events. I'm just trying to be polite because I know people tend to overlook the forum.

Re: Introduction
Thanks for the information. To post a message to Cale do I just look up his name in the member list and type away? I ask this because I'm not that familiar with this forum.

I think you could. This link appears to cover it: https://pennlug.forumotion.com/u2contact
Truthfully this is a busy week for us - Cale, KC, and myself are all going to Brickworld Chicago.
